My Services

As soon as you make that pregnancy announcement it feels like every person at every corner wants to share their birth story with you. Unfortunately, these stories often include terrifying details and are less than what you are imagining for your own story. The reason I believe these stories are so often told, and why many women are eager to share them, is because they hold some traumatic events that through talking can release some of those pent-up emotions. Why has our society moved into a fear-based way of thinking when it comes to birth? How can we move away from that and why are women having these negative and even traumatic births in the first place? I think having a person to guide to ask the right questions to your provider, lean on during difficult moments, help alleviate stressors and a guidance to proper preparations to make your envisioned birth happen, are just a few of the ways we can move into telling more positive birth stories. You deserve to be part of the group of women who every time they think or talk about their birth, get a big smile on their face & feel an overwhelming sense of joy. Let me be a support for you during one of the most important events of your life.

Prenatal Visits

After your free consultation, and before your due date, you will receive two prenatal visits. These visits will vary in length but on average will be about 3 hours each. We will address the remaining weeks of pregnancy, build your plan for birth and postpartum care. We will do a variety of exercises together, some just us, some including your partner. These include but are not limited to, meditation, stretching, massage and a variety of discussions. I will also never arrive empty handed and will tailor to each mommy’s needs. I will also be available to take phone calls & answer questions via text or email whenever you need me.

The Birth

After 37 weeks, I will be on call for you. If you are interested in some natural ways of induction, we can work on that. During your labor I will be your support. Physically, mentally and emotionally. Together with the rest of your birthing team we will create an environment of serenity, and the focus will be on you. So often all of the focus is on the baby, but I believe that this time is just as much about the mom. We will honor your plan to birth, and it is my job to facilitate that. During your birth you deserve to be present to enjoy every moment of this joyous occasion. I will also be providing some goodies during your labor and immediately after birth.

Postpartum Care

Postpartum can be daunting but with the right kind of support, this can be a time of pure bliss. After the birth, you will receive two postpartum visits. Again, these will vary in length but about 2-3 hours each. You will receive a postpartum meal and lactation support in a variety of ways if you choose to breastfeed. We will go over the events of your birth and process things together while you receive a massage. A herbal bath, newborn support, cleaning, organizing, and meal prep, are a few examples of some of the services I am offering. We will make a postpartum plan in your prenatal visits, but we are flexible. You are allowed to change things as we go to make this your perfect experience.
